What's it all about?!
At Oxjam Islington we love our local music scene (some may say a little bit too much). We also love Oxjam and all the brilliant work it does around the world. So what better than to put on a music festival showcasing Islington’s finest musical talent raising money for Oxjam to support its global aid and development programs?
Here’s the lowdown:
- 22nd October 2016
- Over 10 venues along Islington’s Upper Street
- We're currently signing up bands. Email us to firstname.lastname@example.org

Meet the Team!
Barry Causton / Event Manager
I'm the Oxjam Islington Manager. I'm charged with keeping things running and looking after the team. Though they tend to look after to me and to be honest, I'm just really happy to be here! Bring on the festival!
Kate Kandiah - Website / Old Street Studios
My original involvement with Oxjam Islington stemmed from my love of Angel and my connection with the great www.oldstreetstudios.com. I help out wherever I can with events, marketing and our web management. Great music, great area, great causes. Win.win.win.
Joana Casaca / Video Production & Marketing Assistant
I couldn't be happier being part of this amazing music festival! Music is really my passion and to be able to use it, together with my skills, to contribute to such big and important social causes like Oxfam´s is truly an honour. Great music plus great causes, for me, it equals happiness. :)
Moonika Kargenberg / Fundraising & Volunteer Co-ordinator
My name is Moonika and I am this years Fundraising- and Volunteer Co-Coordinator for Oxjam Islington. I recently graduated from London Metropolitan University Business School, studying Events Management and Marketing. I am a passionate individual who joined Oxjam Islington team to gain invaluable events related experience and to help to make the world a slightly better place (cheesy ah?)
Laurie Moon / PR King
Oxjam represents a real way for me to use my skills and interests to raise funds for Oxfam's global development programs. Now go buy a ticket!
Chris Hough / Venues & Marketing
I’ve been involved with Oxjam Islington on and off for the last 3 exciting years. It’s been great being able to utilise the skills I have to raise funds for a very worthy cause and have a lot of fun while doing it. I get to DJ a bit too which is nice. Can’t wait for the festival!
Sorrel Harriet / Web Developer / Sound Engineer
I'm part of the Oxjam Islington web and production teams. I help with the sound at events, as well as doing my best to keep the Oxjam Islington website up to date...(not easy as there's always so much happening!) As a music junkie and supporter of Oxfam, it's great to be able to put my skills to good use as part of this fantastic team!
Here at Oxjam Islington, we think our volunteers are splendid. In fact, everyone here is volunteer - chipping in our time, effort and brainpower to making the event the biggest and best it can be. Why? Because we want to make a real difference to people’s lives.
Wanna join us? Whether you can volunteer 20 hours a week or 20 minutes, we’d love to have you on board. There are loads of ways you can do your bit - here are just a few:
Any music festival would be a bit naff if there wasn’t any music, right? From thrash metal to electro-pop to P-funk (and everything in between!) we’re after artists and bands of all shapes, sizes and genres to perform. If you want to get involved, e-mail us to email@example.com.
We just love you creative folks out there - you help make Oxjam pretty! If you’re a dab hand at web design, an avid photographer, or great with graphics, we’d love to hear from you.
If you’re a marketing maestro get in touch! Whether it’s writing, tweeting (or whatever noise you like to make), posting or flyering our marketing team will welcome you with open arms.
Do you have impeccable taste in music? Do you love organised fun? Are you great at getting people to be in the right place at the right time? Whether it’s managing a venue on the night, scouting out the best talent to perform at the event, or organising all technical stuff to make the event run smoothly - we want you!
Time to talk dinero - if you’re good at persuading people to give you money, join in with our fundraising team. Whether it’s raising sponsorship money, coming up with creative fundraising ideas and seeing them through, get involved!
Feet on the street
We need an army of volunteers on the night to make sure everything runs smoothly and that everyone has a splendid time.
